Agricultural Heritage & Resources Inc. was founded in 1994 as a not-for-profit educational organization concerned about the need to preserve and promote the agricultural based heritage of Brown, Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc Counties. Since the gift of the farmstead, Agricultural Heritage & Resources has committed to bring events and activities to these very special facilities that focus on community and family.
AHR has had many achievements since it’s humble beginnings in 1994, including: -Development of the Heritage Farm site and related facilities Agricultural Heritage Days Hosting Smithsonian Exhibit and Farm Fest The Farm Market Kitchen Hosting events that bring awareness of our agricultural community Development of tour projects Getting community involved in embracing their cultural heritage Providing venues and promotion for fun events Promoting and preserving agriculture, and keeping the heritage alive for future generations Events like Heritage Days, Spring Shearing Days, Barn Dances, Festivals, Preservation Workshops, “Country Crossroad” Motor Coach and “Land to Learning” school tours all create awareness and pride in our unique rural heritage here in northeastern Wisconsin.
Developing a shared use processing kitchen and hosting events that focus on our heritage ethnic foods and music bring economic gains to our community. Heritage Farm is a gift to the community from Mike Sfat, a visionary who understands the significance of preserving these testimonials to the perseverence and ingenuity of our ancestors. The Baylake Bank Heritage Center provides the finest facilities to host activities that bring family and community together.
